Disable Sheet Setup

If you're sharing a Google Sheet but don't want others to trigger GPT functions or if you're looking to conserve API usage and avoid unnecessary costs, you can disable GPT Mate for that sheet at any time.

Why Disable Sheet Setup?​

  • Prevent Unexpected Costs: Collaborators won’t accidentally use GPT formulas and consume your API quota.
  • Control Access: Once disabled, no one (including you) can run GPT functions in the sheet until it’s re-enabled.
  • Safe for Sharing: Ideal when sharing with clients, students, or external stakeholders who don’t need GPT features.

How to Disable:​

  • Go to Extensions > GPT Mate for Sheets > Open App
  • In the GPT Mate sidebar, click the home icon and go to the Sheet Setup section
  • Click the Disable button to deactivate GPT functionality for that sheet

Alternatively, you can directly disable it by Extensions > GPT Mate for Sheets > Disable.

You can re-enable it at any time. This setting is specific to the sheet, not your account.
